Droushia

The little village of Droushia (Drouseia) is built on the high ground of the Laona plateau and has a population of around 400. It is 27km from Paphos and only 10km from Polis. Drousheia is a typical Cypriot Village, with many stone houses, carved doors and plenty of character.

The village has two kiosks and 2 coffee shops, along with the ancient Monastery of Agios Georgios Nikoxilitis, a 15th century church which was rebuilt in 1923 after a fire destroyed it.

There are also some very good tavernas here, where you can sample some real Cypriot cuisine and local hospitality and is also home to a tiny weaving museum. With breathtaking views to Troodos, Polis and the Akamas Peninsula, this is an ideal place for a typical Cypriot life.
